Jewish Center for Media Literacy

The Academy's Jewish Center for Media Literacy was founded in late 2013 and aims to strenghten Jewish voices within a German-speaking public through media training. In doing so, we also strive to combat anti-semitism in all its forms.
We support the professionalization of media and public relations work of Jewish communities and organizations, we offer know-how for Jewish grass-roots initiatives and help media projects realize their ideas concerning the fight against anti-semitism and anti-israelism.
Our work is based in a pluralistic understanding of Judaism that encompasses all denominations of the Jewish faith as well as secular lifestyle choices.

Our ambition

  • Supporting Jewish voices within a German-speaking public
  • Creating awareness for Jewish issues and furthering visibility of Jewish communities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland
  • Combatting anti-semitic patterns in the media and public discourse, especially its conspiratorial and anti-Israel manifestations

Our activities

  • We support for the development and realization of media projects...
    • ...by providing necessary infrastructure (e.g. rooms, IT structures),
    • ...by offering weekend seminars, lectures and project-related workshops on media work and public relations,
    • ...by offering help with PR work, both internal and external (e.g. finding new team members, media support etc.),
    • ...by connecting project members with renowned outside experts,
    • ...by putting you in touch with all kinds of sponsors and supports.
  • We support the professionalization of media and PR work of Jewish communities and organizations.
  • We connect initiatives and projects focussing on Jewish PR and pro-Israel work with each other, forming a comprehensive and working network.
